Doire Fhíonáin (Derrynane) beach is located in a proposed Natural Heritage Area site. It is also part of the Kenmare River SAC and the Iveragh Peninsula SPA. The area is rich in biodiversity and of significant national importance.
From Tralee, take the R551 north to the town of Ballyheigue. The beach is a sheltered sandy beach with a natural harbour and is a great beach for swimming, walking, relaxing, kitesurfing and other watersports.
Doire Fhíonáin (Derrynane) is lifeguarded during the summer months. More information can be found on the noticeboard located at the beach.
