Visit beautiful Dowth, a passage tomb that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Brú na Bóinne. Over 5,000 years old, the ancient Dowth once had two burial chambers and a ritual basin.

Discover Dowth, a magnificent burial tomb in the Boyne Valley, in County Meath. One of three great tombs of the Brú na Bóinne Megalithic Cemetery, marvel at this ancient grassy mound.

Like other monuments in this area, Dowth is an important part of Ireland's cultural heritage though not as large as Newgrange and Knowth. It has two tombs, North and South and the entrance to these are on the western perimeter. Dowth has plenty of charm, seek out the large kerbstones dotted in the area and spot the rock art and solar symbols that are engraved on some of them.

Bring your camera and take pictures of this special place where shrubs, trees, birds and the occasional sheep keep you company. Soak up the peaceful atmosphere.
