The Shed Distillery

Kiltyclogher Heritage Centre and Seán MacDiarmada’s Cottage

One for the history buffs, at Kiltyclogher Heritage Centre you’ll learn all about the life of political activist Sean MacDiarmada, one of the signatories of the Proclamation of Irish Independence. The exhibition is largely focused on his role in the 1916 Rising and, nearby, his cottage is the last remaining home place of any of the seven signatories.

Manorhamilton Castle and Heritage Centre

Like many plantation era buildings, Manorhamilton Castle offers an insight into the turbulent history of Ireland and its then-ruling British overlords. Today, a permanent exhibition runs in the castle’s ruins, which includes 17th century artefacts, replica period costumes and beautiful furniture from the castle, giving you a peek through the centuries of what life was like in this grand pile long ago.

Booking is essential and, while you’re in the area, why not take in a night of theatre or music at The Glens Arts Centre?

The Organic Centre

Explorers with an interest in wellness and organic food love The Organic Centre at Rossinver, in what’s become known as Leitrim’s bohemian north.
