Sharing the stories, scenery, seafood and other tasty treats is what Kinsale Food Tours is all about. Kinsale is hailed as the Gourmet Capital of Ireland with its phenomenal eateries that showcase local foods and producers. Just call or book online.

Kinsale Food Tours will satisfy eager stomachs with tasty treats and enliven minds with local history and stories. The tour is light and playful and the producers friendly and fascinating. The tour visits four different eateries to sample their delicious foods. The producers in Kinsale pride themselves on sourcing local food as much as possible and making homemade, quality food. Much of the food is produced literally on the doorstep with many cafes and restaurants baking and cooking homemade delights. The majority of the fish and seafood is caught or harvested locally. Much of the greens are grown locally and lots of small, artisanal producers contribute jams, cheeses, seaweed, smoked salmon etc. Everyone knows everyone here so the food sources are known and trusted.

As the tour wends its way through the town, stories and history of the town and its wonderful characters will unfold. Kinsale is highly unusual for many reasons which make it all the more special. It started out as a Norman walled town in the 12th Century. Originally it was a very busy trading port and then fishing village where boats sailed right up to the inner town. The inner town was reclaimed from the sea but in the past boats could sail right up to the Fish Market next to the Blue Haven to offload their catch or to hop off at the Tap Tavern for a brew.

Kinsale holds the country’s longest Food Festival which started in 1976 courtesy of The Good Food Circle. This organisation and the pioneering work of certain individuals were instrumental in creating the food culture and significance of Kinsale today. This legacy has endured with more restaurateurs and food creators adding to the mix to create an exceptional experience for the foodie or anyone who just loves their grub!

The tours which showcase these fantastic foods and people, run regularly throughout the year. Tours last 2 - 2.5 hours and happen hail, rain or shine, the food is too fabulous to miss out!

To Book the Tour just telephone or refer to the website - Please ensure to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the tour starting time.
